Costa Rica was a beautiful country because it has a lot of the country has been preserved. When I thought about Costa Rica I knew that there were going to be a lot of rainforests but I did not know that it was going to be so beautiful. I also did not know that there were so many eco systems within Costa Rica. I also did not know that there were so many volcanos in Costa Rica; even though I was told that we were going to be going to the top of one it did not really connect until I saw it.

My favorite part of the trip was the two hikes we did. One was in Fortuna because there were rainforest and cloudforest and another was to the top of a volcano in Alajuela. I have never been in a rainforest and I did not know that cloudforests existed before hiking in one. On our hike I felt really emerged in the environment and I felt like I got to see a lot of things that I have never seen before. When we went on our hikes we saw a waterfall, a blue river, butterflies, a lizard, a sloth, frogs, and a volcano and even though we were not able to see them we heard howler monkeys in the distance.

I loved the hikes because I felt like I was learning new things but also accomplishing something that not a lot of people have done. Costa Rica was not all rainforests and cloudforests but it was also had beautiful beaches. We spent one day hanging out at Jaco beach, a beach located on the Pacific coast. While we were at the beach we saw macaws and an iguana. Costa Rica is also known for its farming because of Costa Rica’s environment it’s very easy for plants to grow. We visited a coffee plantation and also an organic farm to see how these plants were grown.

Since Costa Rica protects their rainforests and cloudforests it keeps the country beautiful. There are many different environments in Costa Rica from its beaches to its rainforests to its cloudforests. Each provided a different environment with different weather and animals.
