I have traveled a lot throughout my life I have traveled. Most of my traveling has been on airplanes but within the country. The only time in my adult life that I have traveled outside of the country was driving through the Canadian border with my parents. Traveling to Costa Rica was the first time traveling outside of the country without my parents. My expectation was that getting to Costa Rica was going to be very easy but getting home was going to be the hard part.

When we first got to the airport in Rochester it was very early so that we could beat the crowds but we were lucky that we got there early enough that there were not any crowds yet. It took a while to get our luggage checked in because the computers were not working. It was a smart idea to get there early because since the computers took so long to get us booked in that there ended up being a crowed at security once we finally got checked in. From that point on it was very easy to get on to our plane and get to Costa Rica. Once we got to Costa Rica we had to go to customs and give them out visa and get out passport stamped. While we were in Costa Rica a typical mode of transportation was a van, public bus, or taxi. In Costa Rica it was important to stay flexible because plans could always change, so staying flexible was a necessity. The only part that I was nervous about when going back to the states was that my luggage was going to be over fifty pounds. To prevent my luggage from being overweight I packed as much as I could on my carry on.

Traveling back in to the United States was a longer process than getting in to Costa Rica. Our first stop in the States was in Washington D.C. We had to go to a computer and fill out a questionnaire then we had to grab our luggage. Then we had to recheck our luggage then go back through security and then we were on our way home.

As long as one follows the rules of traveling getting through customs is an easy process. It also important to stay relaxed while traveling because when one gets stressed out it ruins their time and everyone’s fun around them. Just make sure that all rules are followed and that checked in luggage is less than fifty pounds.
